Dr. Gary Horndeski
Board Certified in both plastic and hand surgery, Dr. Gary Horndeski has been practicing and performing plastic surgery for nearly 34 years. Dr. Horndeski is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Horndeski received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics with a focus on engineering from Case Western Reserve University. There, he also completed a doctor of medicine degree.
After finishing a general surgery residency at the University Hospital of Cleveland, he continued to a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Houston. Dr. Horndeski completed his fellowship in hand surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit and then a microvascular reconstructive surgery fellowship at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
Using his background in mathematics and engineering, Dr. Horndeski performs each surgery with meticulous detail and customizes each procedure based on the patient’s needs. Dr. Horndeski credits his successful techniques to a pursuit of improving the field and developing a new standard of care.
Elisa Gonzalez, P.A.-C
With 20-years experience in the surgical field, Elisa Gonzalez has been a physician’s assistant in Dr. Horndeski’s practice since 1994. She is board certified by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners for Physician Assistants.
Gonzalez received a bachelor of science degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch. Before joining the practice, she served in the U.S. Navy during the Gulf War.
Gonzalez assists with hospital patient care and manages all aspects of patient education.
